I've done a little selling of gear on CL and have had some good and some bad. I had one guy buy an acoustic electric guitar and he was great to deal with. Came out to my house, tried it out, liked it, but was strapped for cash (about to start a new job) asked me to hold it for a week until he got paid. I figured, what the hell and agreed and he actually gave me an extra $25 for holding it. That guy was a class act.
On the other hand, I'm listing an acoustic/electric bass right now with a hard case for $225 and after a couple of emails asking how "firm" I am on price, I've got a guy offering me less than half that because, to quote his email, "4 years old, Discontinued, needs a set up." Whatever.
