Ibanez 2016

I saw on the Andertons website they have some NAMM Show new products from Ibanez. Nothing earth shattering but it looks like they are going to revamp the electronics in the lower SR range with new pups and coil tapping capability. Maybe a SR305 will be my first 5 string if these upgrades are well executed. There is a shortscale Talman bass too. The other stuff just looks like cosmetic changes.

I apologize in advance for starting an Ibanez thread.

I'm intrigued by the Ibanez sr305eb. looks pretty cool. and don't be sorry. I enjoy checking out Ibanez related threads. I mean sure. not everyone likes these basses, but some of us do. I enjoy playing Ibanez soundgear basses as much as I enjoy playing schecter stiletto basses and yamaha trbx basses.

I'll definitely consider the Talman 300 with the Nordstrand pickups. If that the case.

I love the blocked neck and matching head stock on the 300 series but preferred the tone of the 100 overall.
This would change that and a couple decent color options.

I'm dreaming but the Talman would look great with something in the lines of Belair Green, Gulfstream Blue or a white-cream like India Ivory.

I'm with you on the Ivory, especially if it involves a tort pickguard.

I'm also thinking yellow-brown-black sunburst, any pastel (daphne blue, surf green, shell pink, etc) with a tort pickguard, and a metallic light green (think Lake Placid Blue... but green) with a pearloid pickguard. As the Talman is a very '60's-inspired instrument, I think the color palette should reflect that accordingly.

Did you get a good look at the SR 4-string with a light top, dark body, and gold tuners? Do you have any info on that model?
I don't know about that bass specifically, but I found my better pics of the ibanez stall (and other parts of BP live) here:

STOP THE PRESSES!

...is that a set of Nordstrands I see in a Talman bass?!?!?
That's what it looks like to me.
I'm wasn't sure because Ibanez has been introducing a few pickups of their own that are a bit nordy'ish, but it certainly appears to be nordys to me and if the talman series is selling well, it wouldn't be unreasonable for there to be a higher-end Talman with better pups.

Agreed.

I get the idea on the placid/green cross. Sounds like Gulfstream Aqua might fit the bill.

So far, the closest I have seen to my metallic green idea would be the "Shamrock Green" available from Warmoth.

But yeah, that Gulfstream Aqua would look great with a pearloid pickguard and white pup covers, IMHO!

I got the idea now. SG would look really good on the Talman.

I want to do a P with the 54' body and the shamrock green was one of the colors I was considering.
I really leaning toward a nice ivory so i may end up ordering it unfinished and painting it myself. (that india ivory I mentioned with vintage/cream/champagne pearl PG)

The Talman with the Nords/TMB600 comes in Natural and Antique White Blonde.

To answer my own question for anyone else interested in this bass, it's the new incarnation of the SR1400E: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
