Ibanez Affirma Series (AFR-104)

I am looking for a 4 string fretted affirma bass. I would prefer the walnut but I would be open to any wood. I would also be interested in a road worn or damaged or basses with defective pickups. The price would depend on the condition As i play for a living, I would be more inclined to a player than a looker. Contact <[email protected]>

I've looked over all my sample pics of the Affirma Natural Finish basses and am taking an educated guess at Walnut, as the AFRs with Saman look to have more figuring in their bodies, and Koa looks to have a more "Golden Brown" hue to my eyes.

...but whatever wood you end up having, you absolutely have a rare (1 of 750 or 1000), Magnetic & Piezo-equipped, and generally unique-in-a-good-way Bass! :hyper:

I'm gonna revive this old thread in saying I've finally found another AFR 5 string (Saman model) in Australia and snagged it. It's in great condition and plays great.
I do remember feeling like the stock electronics while sounding good were a little bland. Well, combined with a change of string to my newly discovered Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinkies and some harmonic help from Aguilar Agro with a low OD setting this thing sounds like a monster! If you YouTube Pantera's Throes Of Rejection, the opening bass tone is what I can nail. Won't be everyone's cup of tea but I have waited years to find another one of these and I'm stoked!

Despite the new Affirma flamed maple AFR4FMP-NTF, AFR5FMP-NTF and walnut AFR4WAP-NTF, AFR5WAP-NTF are going to be made in Indonesia (please put in mind, those Affirma basses shown at Winter NAMM 2018 were prototypes. Ibanez will only put them into productions if there are enough purchasing requests from their world wide dealers), these will carry the Ibanez Premium branding, thus they would not be on the commonly affordable side for most. Might gonna be reasonably priced for some, but usually not for me... :nailbiting:

That already sounds like it's priced a little above what I can spend at this time - I've bought too much as it is...might have to hock a lung or something.
