Ibanez BTB owners - show your BTB's

Its TB (Transparent Black), its just in pictures it looks purple, it has a slight purple tint in the right light, but never seems as vibrant as that, awsome bass tho

String spacing at the bridge is 18mm, I love BTB 6ers. I think that BTB's only look good in a six string, and they look darn good.

That looks great! I eventually want to get a 6-string. I'm impressed that the string spacing is still wide. That must be some wide neck!

uhhh this thread give me sooo much gas, i really want another ibanez and the btb series is what i had my eye set on. I just wish ibanez would issue a higher end BTB 4 sting like the BTB1205e and 1206. I want so bad i'm considering make my jump up to five sting with a BTB.

as a side note didnt ibanez used to make a 4 sting verson of the 1205??

Yup, the BTB 1200, prior to that the 1000. You can find them on ebay. I think there's one on ebay now actually...

I totally agree! They should be making a BTB550 and a BTB1200 - 4-string versions of each of their upper scale basses. I think that $1200 is too much for the BTB1205, when I could get a Lakland 55-02 deluxe for $1100.

Man, do I love the Vari-mid control! I like a nice round tone, and I've found what works best for me is to leave my bass and treble half way up, leave the mids down half way and then adjust the vari-mid until it's cutting the mids I don't want. With one control I can radically adjust my sound from bright cutting to deep dub!

I love mine, great bass, but a bugger to sell! It's resisted sale so many times I think I might keep hold of it! It was my first proper bass, but I'm proud of keeping it in bear mint condition, not a scratch on it, just a couple of tiny nicks on the top of the headstock! It even has the plastic still on the back! (not on the battery compartment though!)

I'm pretty proud of this being the only battle scar too...

It is but it's quite comfortable. I got used to it pretty quickly, but I'm still getting used to the new string spacing and 2 more strings!

I totally know what you mean! This was one of the major things that almost had me buying a Lakland 55-01 instead. I paid $700 for my BTB555 new and can't hope to get more than $350 for her used. The Lakland is also $700 and I could probably get $500 for it used.

When I was shopping for one I noticed the same BTB405QM's on Ebay week after week. I don't think the black quilt ones are that attractive to buyers as they used to be. I think my maple/mahogany one might be easier to sell.

Thats's totally nuts. I live in Chile and I know for sure that i could get out of my BTB 556 at least US$1000. New basses here are way too expensive, but that's great when you're selling one

It's on Ebay right now, and supposedly it was a custom job done for Limp Bizkit's bass player. It looks like a cross between the BTB555 and the BTB1205. The maple has what looks like a bit of spalting in it. If I hadn't already bought my 555 I'd jump on this thing in a heartbeat!
