I would say Ibanez would have had a hard time if it wasn't for the SR series. It's the most accessible of the lines and allows all kinds of players to experience a fast, comfortable, good sounding bass.
I don't know why everyone judges the SR's according to the entry level models.![]()

Here's the deal ibanez started off making Gibson copy's and the copy's were so good they got sued by Gibson this turned out to be a testament to the quality and pros and working players started to get ibanez because for a fraction of the cost you get the top quality instruments.
With that ibanez is a young company finding it's nitch in a way they had hollow body jazz guitars then metal musicians took them up and that's the stigma they have now they tend to move with the industry were as fender stays cause that's what worked for them.
Look at the evidence pay thousands for a name on the headstock or hundreds for a bass that can play any style exotic woods and top of the line electronics and when listened too people can't guess that's a j bass or p bass ibanez likes to push the envelope I respect that they take gambles that's their business tactics personally I love ibanez
