Ibanez Grooveline Club!!

I have bad GAS for the four string version of this bass. Almost bought the 5 string when it first came out but have since moved back to fours. If I had the cash, I'd have one sitting in my lap now.

Hows it look inside the electronics cavity? is there a preamp level adjustment? How do you like the electronics so far?

Stay strong I'll likely join the club in a few months.:bassist:

I had bad GAS for the four string, too... thanks to eBay I have a deep espresso G104 in the mail and it looks like I'll be Grooveline Club Member #2: )

I like "off the beaten path" basses so I've previously owned a bunch of Ibanez gear... GWB1 (2), GWB2, GWB35 (2), SR1305PM, SR506BM, PGB1TK, PGB1TR, EDA905 (2), ATK305TKB, ATK305BSP, ATK300 (2)... hmmm... I think that's it: )

I will still say that I wish I could join the club. The design of these basses is just brilliant. Once you play one sitting, it will make all of the sense in the world to you. Alas, $2K is just not in the cards for me for a few years. Maybe I will get an Ibanez SR with Nordstrands, but that's as close as I can get for now.:rolleyes:

I think I bid on that exact bass the last two times it came up for auction but never hit the reserve. Is it the one with the replacement hardchell case?

Definitely get back to us with pics and a review if you don't mind.

Yep... that's the one. After the first two auctions failed to reach the reserve price he posted it with a BIN price and I did.

I will definitely post a review and pics after I've played it for a week or so.

if Ibanez would offer the one in the foreground in the pic I'd order one immediately. Looks like the same wood combo as the SR5005 & 6e Prestige. The other colors make it hard for me to spend the $$$.

What a lonely club.

Haven't played or seen one of these in person yet but I have to say, I like they way they look, but it does look a bit odd and like it wouldn't feel comfy to play, so good to hear that it is. Were there any pics in this thread? I don't see any...

I have yet to get a chance to play one but I couldn't justify owning one on the price tag alone. Although the body isn't the most graceful looking to my eyes I still like it alright because it reminds me of that easily placed corner piece of a jigsaw puzzle.

Actually Ibanez is working on a new version with a different body that locks into the current one (like a real puzzle) so you'd end up with a double neck. No, I kid.

As time goes by it reminds me less and less of a puzzle piece which I think can mainly be attributed to the lower bout. But then it isn't too different than the one Les C designed and had built by Dan Maloney... a bass I love the looks of.
