Ibanez SR1600

I think those are neck-through & sold for over $1k USD new. I would have grabbed it!

I went to one music store yesterday, and saw an Ibanez SR 1600. I asked the salesguy there on the production year, and he told me it's a 2007 Ibanez SR1600. It's new, a new old stock.
Asking price is $650.

Can any of you guys tell me about Ibanez SR1600, is it a good bass?
Thanks in advance guys.

If you can, go back and get it. Their premium line is top notch.

SR1600 is NOT neck through.
it appears in the 2013 and 2014 european catalogs.
it came in natural flat NTF. has a poplar burl top over mahogany body, 5pc bubinga/wenge neck with kts titanium rods and rosewood fretboard. monorail 4 bridge, gold hardware, Nordstrand Big Single pickups, EQB-IIISC 3-band preamp. made in indonesia.

The 2015 and 2016 SR1400TE is neck through.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna go to that store again on Thursday.

I was looking for either a Yamaha TRBX504/ 604 or Ibanez SR500, but only one Ibanez SR 500 is available... and it's only about $30 cheaper than the SR1600.

I need a lightweight bass, cause two weeks ago I had problem with my left shoulder. It's better now, but I still have stiff neck. Anyway, I practice standing up, but with my shoulder's condition it's not comfortable to practice standing up, so this past week I practice sitting down. But I prefer standing up to sitting down, that's why I'm looking for a lightweight bass.

I finally went back to the store two days ago (Monday). I didn't go there earlier because I wanted to be sure that I want the bass, and that I had learned more about it... you know the usual web research.

Anyway, I didn't buy the bass, cause the quoted price that day, was higher than what was previously quoted to me, it was $70 higher. I told them that the price they gave me the week before was cheaper... but they insisted that the current price is the right price...and I don't remember the sales guy's name that gave me the price...

I was pissed and I decided not to buy it from them... I know from my web research on the bass, that there's another store that sells SR1600.

I called that store to make sure that they really have it in their stock, and asked them the price. It's the same price that the first store quoted me last week.

So, today I went there, tried it in the store... and I bought it. Here it is:

Thanks for listening guys.
Nice score!
So what did you actually end up paying for this one? $650?
If so that’s awesome

The local Taco Bell charges $5.99 for their special that's supposed to be $5, no one but ME notices!

add: to make this relevant to Premium Ibanez basses,
you can find them all the time on GuitarCenter.com for only $700 USD

hmm, today isn't one of those days, however:

anyway, if someone is reading this & wants a Premium for under $1k USD, keep your eye on GC's pre-owned stuff
