Hi there one and all,
I'm curious as to whether anyone can perhaps shed some light on an issue I've stumbled upon with my Ibanez SR 605 5-String more specifically the Bartolini MK1 Stock Pickups
I've had the bass just over 4 years, and this morning when I rolled my balancer all the way toward the neck to solo the neck pick up when jamming with a friend, no sound came from my amp at all.... so I rolled my on board volume and 3 band EQ all up to max just to see if it was a volume issue - Still no output.
As soon as I rolled the balancer the slightest bit to the right towards the bridge again I'd start getting output again....
Obviously my biggest concern is - Is my pick up dead?
I'll admit I haven't changed the 9V for the pre-amp in the 4 years I've owned the bass, a bit part of me is hoping maybe changing the battery will restore my pick up, but of course if it was a battery issue I'd be having an issue with my whole bass, EQ output, and with my other pick up surely?
So I'm curious whether to take it to a professional to check the wiring on it (After changing the battery if the issue remains) and if not, I suppose it'd be a case of any recommendations on a place to purchase a replacement of the MK1 in there.
