The new SRFF's aren't available yet. You can pre-order one if you'd like too. Word is they'll be available in April but we'll have to wait and see if that's real or not.

I can't speak to 35.5" scale, but I can tell you that when I went from 34" to 35" scale (I currently play a Schecter Stileto Studio 5), it sounded a lot better to me, much clearer & with more note definition. But that's just my opinion. I've been looking for a longer scale, thought about a Dingwall, but I've gotten to like the Schecter's 16.5mm sting spacing, so I know the the Dingwall wouldn't be as comfortable for me to play, not to mention the Dingwall price is too steep for me. The Ibanez SRFF805 is looking very interesting to me, longer scale, 16.5mm string spacing, not too expensive. I think I'm going to order one 
I have recently recieved my Ibanez SRFF806 from GAK. it is a great Instrument with very nice tone and plays really nicely.
The tension is noticeably greater on the Low B and E strings compared with my 34" and even 35" Scale Basses. The EQ seems prety good and the bass feels nice and ergonomic. The neck doesn't feel overly long and there is no obvious adjustment required for the Fan Frets, its very natural. String Spacing is prety tight like on most SR Basses.
The only bits I have not like so much are...
The angled Pickups are a little uncomfy if you are the type who places their thumb on the pickup to play, as i do.
The end of the fingerboard is still square and protrudes past the angled nut. This could have been done angled and would have looked a lot better.
The Finish is horrible and a bit nasty, it is a faded grey stain with patches of fake wear in contact areas. this is badly done in my opinion and all just looks a bit scruffy. It looks far worse in real life than the marketing pictures.
My answer for this was to re-finish my bass! It took a bit of nerve to take sand paper to a brand new bass, but i am so please with the results. I sanded the body and headstock back to bare a re-stained first with green, then with blue wood stain. i then gave it 2 coats of danish oil and then finished with highly buffed furniture wax. The result is an amazing bass with a finish that is custom and looks as good as the bass sounds. All for less than £800! Please see pictures attatched. i think the finish looks better in real life. By using 2 colours it has almost ended up with a petrol effect where it looks different from different angles!

Yeah, the factory finish/stain is really the only thing I don't like about my SRFF806. I'll probably do a refinish too. Might just go a la natural.
I would love to see them in a trans red.. but I am sure that there are several trans colors that they would look great in besides that dull gray that they are using!

That re-finish looks great. I just think it is a shame how every single one of these basses has a piss-poor wood matching job. The one that got re-finished is by far the best looking match I have seen out of the dozen I have viewed.
Maybe we can resurrect this thread...I agree with the posts above re: the factory gray finish is unconscionably ugly. The blue re-finish by Ticker was nicely done.
Wondering if anyone who's had one of these for a year or so is still enjoying them? Thinking about taking the leap to a 6 string and wondering if I should go fanned fret too.

My only problem is the damn tiny baby hands string spacing on the 5 and 6. I wish they'd have made them more on the Dingwall spacing specs... Same with the ESP models. Deal breaker for me.
