Closest I came was a '67 Triumph Bonneville with a '69 motor, but I rode with a good friend who had a Canary yellow Norton commando. Great bike.

Oops, that was supposed to read CB750 Four and it was a North American bike that was an awesome platform for custom work. Amazing engines (Honda still uses the same basic design for their modern sport bikes) and built like tanks. I have a 1975 and the thing runs amazing, when it starts, the electric start is shot and trying to kick start it is like trying to stomp a rhino to death. I have taken to bump starting it when it makes its way out of the shed.

My Dad had a CB350, 450 and then a 750. I used to ride them around my neighborhood when I was rather young to be riding them around the neighborhood I rode dirtbikes at the time, it was just a matter of holding up the extra weight and minding the throttle.

It's funny, back then a 450 was a big bike. Today it's a scooter. I can remember my first Yamaha 450, I thought that was all anyone ever needed.

My Dad and I would ride two up on the 450 and ride all over the NY and CT countryside. When he got the 750, it was like a rocket. I can't believe the dirt bikes I rode back then, compared to the new ones
