My dad had one of those, when the fiberglass kits were really big back in the seventies/early eighties. You never have as much fun as you do in a roadster. His didn't have the blower, but here's a funny story about about a friend of his who did...

Some young punk was giving him crap about the car, saying it looked stupid and couldn't be all that fast. So finally this guy decides to give the kid a ride in it, and the hop on the interstate and proceed to get up to about 90 before the belt on the blower snaps. If you've heard a blower whine before, you know what it's like, but having the belt go was even worse. Needless to say, this kid went about white as a sheet, and he turns and says, "You'd better turn around and bring me back." My dad's friend asks why, and he give this reply - "Because I just $h!t my pants." ;)

Now I'm sorry, but the coolest things EVER, engine or not, are the SR-71 Blackbird and Invicta S-Type Low Chassis;

I already posted the Blackbird a few pages back, so a huge +1 there.
I think it's a shame that it's not used anymore, especially as I think that the U2 is still flying. Kind of seems like a step backwards. Watching James May's On the Edge of Space really made me want to ride a Blackbird, the same view but going +Mach3 :D
