If someone disrespected your gear...

I'd kill his parents and make chili out of the remains. Errr...sorry, that's "South Park".

I'd castrate his cousin in Phoenix. Ummm...that was already used in "The Usual Suspects".

I know, I'd bankrupt his uncle's tractor franchise in Sioux City. #*&$, "Ocean's Eleven".

Guess I'm out of ideas. Just punch him in the face.

Riis

Start playing next to the person that's disrespecting your gear.
Look at the opposite side.
Bump the headstock of your bass to the person's head, turn around and say "I'm so sorry, are you ok?"

Done it many times...

Same way I treat 'em if they disrespect my motorcycle...POW!

Naw, seriously, I'm too old for that stuff. But, I DO tell 'em to get their hands off, and sternly. If they don't comply, well, I'll just have to do the best I can with the other method, I reckon.:eyebrow:

Well it goes like this. Having practice and a friend calls up and asks if he can come chill and listen to music and some other people would join him. We thought having a small audience would be cool. So they come over, four guys. The guy who called and his brother, then there was someone who was a semi-close friend then someone he knew. We kinda knew the other guy, but at more of an aquaintance level. The band, our friend who called and his brother all go to the kitchen once the pizza arrived. The other two were messing around on my friend's acoustics in the practice room so they stayed back. The guitarist forgot to turn his amp off, as did I so we go back to the room. We hear giggling and we open the door and we see the semi-close friend placing a certain bag-like body part on the guitarist's guitar, thinking it would be funny. It ends with the kid getting punched in the face and both of them literally thrown out of the house. Weird practice...

If someone tea-bagged my bass, you're damn right they would get punched in the face.
Twice.
There is funny, and then there is down right disgustingly sick.
That falls into the latter.

Doesn't really happen to me, @ 6', 350, look fairly bad tempered and have a sort of reputation keeps folks at their distance.
The reputation is deserved but that was years ago, marriage and old age have mellowed me some. Punch in the face, not really unless it's just to momentarily stun them, more likely my alter ego would do something interesting like a swishy, head and shoulders in trash can or just smack them against the wall a couple of times.

I've seen a lot of strange behaviour from people over the course of my nearly 55 years of life, especially during my youth, but putting one's junk on a guitar or any other inanimate object as some sort of joke baffles me completely. Is it a sexual paraphilia that rarely gets talked about outside of the psychiatric profession? I'm non violent but I think I would have slapped the clown silly and tossed him out too.

What methods of vengeance would you go for? Let's say someone truly disrespected your gear in a way that you can't just call them a jerk and move on. If you were to get back at them somehow, how would you do it?

A) They're entitled to their opinion.
B) I don't give a s*** about their opinion, because it's not their gear.
C) I'm well past trying to "get them back" for an opinion.

Trying to "get them back" is only a practice of grade school kids and immature jerks. Adults know better.

The fact that your guitarist took a swing at someone indicates that he's an immature jerk.

Reminds of the bit in Our Band Could Be Your Life where Gibby Haynes put his junk on the handle of Amy Carter's luggage right before the former President picked up said luggage.

I can't see Jimmy Carter punching Gibby in the face, though.

Edited to add: I can't really answer the question, though. I don't hang out with 13 year old moron-types who would do that sort of thing.
