What bass would you choose if you could have only one? Whether it's a bass you have now, a bass with sentimental value, your dream bass or a bass that completes you. You can only have one bass, show a picture of the this precious gem. Here's mine, my first American jazz. It's a 2009 Classic IV.

I have to be honest.
I could not live with just one bass.
I would have to have.

1-P-bass with flats
2-J-bass with rounds.
3- fretless bass. (4 or 5 string)
4-5-string bass fretted.
5 6 string bass fretted or fretless.

I could live with out number 5.
But I gas for it.
The others I have.

It would have to be my 2008 MIA Fender Jazz V. It's the only bass I own that fits into a mix when all others fail too.

My Birdsong Cortobass. The most versatile, easy to play bass I've come across. Beautilful tones, perfectly balanced on a shoulder strap, built like a beautiful tank.

Mine'd have to be some sort of ultra light 5 string jazz bass with 22 frets, U-retro 5 knob deluxe preamp, big aggressive jazz bass pickups either side of a fat ol' MM humbucker, a ramp over the top of all of them, probably a lightweight mahogany body with flame maple top and either rosewood or maple fretboard.

I've got the pickup and preamp combo in a modded Yamaha of mine but would love it in a bass with more oomph, slightly lighter and a jazz bass style.

Custom Sadowsky perhaps but it'd have to have 17mm spacing and thin neck so many not, anyone got any suggetsion... sorry not hijacking

Sonically, I'm kind of hooked on this bad boy at the moment:

At the moment, on gig A/B comparisons, it's really kicking all the other basses where it hurts.

If it were my one and only, I'd have to invest in some major surgery on the neck to get the action a little lower & make the upper register more usable. And install a D-tuner. And figure out a way to yank the foam mute out from under the bridge cover real quick for those occasions when I want normal sustain for slap-style. (Then get it back in real quick for the next song.)

Normally I'm not a fan of single cuts, but that is a great looking bass!
