If you had to keep just one?

I play in a neo-soul, Americana band that does half originals and half covers. The principal songwriter uses alternate tunings on guitar and a capo frequently. The Sadowsky has a D-tuner.

I admire your restraint and striving for minimalism. However, I can't imagine parting with either of those beauties! Looks like the Sadowsky is better suited to what you are doing with your band, though.

I would also keep the stingray 5 but I have 3 basses and don't play the pedulla 5 often. But when I do I love it. I'm sure you will miss and regret anything you get rid of now.

I gave a away a Washburn force 40, messed up electronics, but would love to have it back

I'm not a D-Tuner guy, and having played fives since the 80's, my knee-jerk would be to go with the SR5.

However, it sounds nothing like a Jazz-pattern Sadowsky, and certainly with a slimmer neck and proportions is a little easier to wear.

But . . . . they're both top-shelf basses, and my advice would be to put the SR5 away until you're REALLY driven to sell it. Every time I was 'on the fence' about a bass and sold it, I regretted it later. Music Man basses hold their value pretty well, so I'd sit on it until I had a compelling reason one way . . . . or the other.

Probably keep the Ray *only* because I stopped playing nice bases at gigs a while back. Give me a player any day of the week unless there's good separation between the audience and me.

I'm just going to echo the sentiment of "keep both". That SR5 will never, ever let you down, and the value of the Will Lee is never going to drop. With new Sadowsky basses going upwards of $5,000 that Will Lee is an investment. If you can't buy groceries due to owning both then you need to rethink how important it is to eat!

I would let go of the 5er but that's only because I prefer 4st necks...better yet keep them both and buy another.

That's a hard question - for you. I'd say... keep the one that works the absolute best for you - works is the key word here - and let the other one go - if you absolutely have to. But, understand that I'm not exactly the guy you should be asking this of; I'm a guy with 23 basses - who ain't about to let any of them go...
However... if I was you? I'd keep the Sadowsky; mainly because I don't particularly care for Stingrays H's, and I have no use whatsoever for a 5-string anything - unless it's a banjo... I'd also quit that band; junk the D-tuner; and find a band that plays really old Rock 'N Roll. But, that's just me...

I don't play 5ers so that would be the one to go.
That being said, if you're a gigging bassist, not having a back up if your #1 needs to be in the shop is a bit shortsighted. IMO of course.

Fwiw, I would keep both, you will never know when you may have a mech. and need the backup.
