That is very cool! Man, what I'd give to be that young again and be able to get involved with something like that! Where I grew up the main order of business was to avoid catching a shiv, protecting your 'corner' and playing hide-and-seek with the police.
Let's see... I've tried violin, cello, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, both rhythm and lead, some keyboard and dabbled with drums and pedal steel so I guess I would say banjo... I never tried that before!!! 
5 drummers in my family, most pro and 2 made/make a living from it.
I’m the first stringed rock musician in my family, so I guess If I didn’t play bass it would be drums.
Two of my sons play bass and my other son plays drums. All can play some guitar.

I never wanted to play bass. My brother needed a bass player for his band and he asked me to do it.....no experience necessary. 30 years later I'm still doing it

It would probably be trumpet for me. I played trumpet in elementary school and progressed pretty quickly (was first chair the entire time), then went to a junior high school where the music program was so far behind what I had already learned, I was bored to death the entire year. It got so bad I made mistakes on purpose, stopped bringing sheet music (I had memorized all of our songs in short order) or played with it upside down, and did other little things to try to hold my interest. I quit trumpet right after that year, but I wish I had stayed with it. I later also tried piano and keyboards, but I was horrible at them.

In addition to bass, I also play guitar and keys. I recently started harmonica.
I'd probably be a hammond organist.
I love playing that thing and using it for recording. if I had to stop playing bass for whatever reason, I'd buy a XK-2 and a marshall combo amp and play for some jam bands.

Great story! Thanks for sharing that. After watching the movies about famous drummers back in the 50’s, from the 40,s and other time periods, I was going to somehow learn to play the drums. We were very poor but somehow I convinced my Dad, through his heavy drinking, to get me a set. We went to Goldenwest Music, the very first bonifide Rock and Roll music store in our area. It was 1962 and I couldn’t wait to see the Big Beautiful Ludwig drumsets! I was shocked when I saw the tiny little 22” bass drum! I asked if this was a child’s set and they said no, it’s how they’re designing them now! Well it was no Ludwig but I loved my new (rented) drum set. Pearl kit in Blue Sparkle! I believe it was about a month later when in drunken rage my Dad sent them back. Something he apologized for 10 years later..
Through the years I taught myself other instruments, including the bass. On my 50th birthday I bought myself a tiny little LP conga and the floodgates were let opened. Lol. Of course, I bought many different sets. Including a ‘62 Ludwig In Champagne Sparkle, Tama Starclassic, Pearl and others. My favorite kit is the one I just bought. Because of the small footprint I went with a mini Pearl Kit added my favorite cymbals and heads and man I’m in heaven for very little cash! So I know what you mean about your love for the drums. It’s the only natural thing to do! Lol.

I started in music as a singer. Then went to singer, occaisional third guitar. Then bass/vocals. I do like to play drums, and I'm at least half assed at it. But I'm disabled and my right ankle could never hang with it for more than a few mins. So prob rhythm guitar
Piano. I still regret, from a musical education standpoint, that I cannot play piano. It’s the application of all music theory and can be used all by itself for just about any song or musical style.
I'd be a traveling brain surgeon. ... It's not too late to come to your town for a check up.
