Yup. I got him my feedback a little over a week ago. I’m not just a tester, I have bought most of his profiles so far.

I will say, I’m looking forward to the next bass capture. Especially now that my studio computer is set back up and I can just plug in and play.

I'm glad you got a license but it's weird to read that they are not "obliged" to help you. That software is a fundamental part of the product they sell, it has to come tied to that pedal. Letting anyone with the pedal without the software is just mean and very greedy.

IK are/were quite annoying with their licenses policies (having to pay to transfer them), and I heard that the Tonex license is not transferable after the first resale.

This may be true about IK, but I have a Tonex and the software it comes with, and I have Amplitube and Arc 3 with the bundled mic. Arc 3 was a steal at $99 with the mic when I bought it. I have $6k in sound treatment in my home office/control room, and some very nice monitors (Dynaudio Lyd 48s with the sub), and the Arc software made a huge difference for the better. Best band for the buck I’ve spent on that room.

They’ve given me good support so far. I’ll probably buy a new Tonex if a new pro model ever comes out. Their stuff is really great, and their prices are very low.

In fact I was thinking of a Kemper or Quad Cortex last year. I’m so glad I dragged my feet. I like the Tonex more and it’s a fraction of the price.

Well, when I’m fumbling with my guitars I love the amalgam audio captures. They’re inspiring and keep me playing for hours. I’m just a hobbyist at this point so I am a lot less concerned with workflow.

And it looks like the answer is yes. You can run amplitube and Tonex with it. This is my new favorite headphone amp (in theory) for practicing. Small, portable, and powerful. I’ll definitely be ordering as I’m already invested in the ik universe with many great Tonex profiles.

Yes, I have downloaded Tonex app but wonder how similar it is to the actual Tonex pedal.
I don't have the pedal but for 1/3 the price I may try the irig.

Sorry - I misunderstood you.

IK and users are making statements alone the lines of:
Overall, the TONEX software and pedal are designed to sound identical. However, there are a few factors that can lead to slight differences in sound, such as the quality of your audio interface and speakers, the use of a cabinet simulator plugin, and the settings you are using.

In a blind test, it is unlikely that most people would be able to tell the difference between the TONEX software and pedal. However, if you are using a high-end audio setup and are very critical of your sound, you may notice some slight differences.

Question for tone x users. I’ve been running a hx stomp for years I like the way the amp plays but is the tone x better? Can it sound more natural amp like? I use a svt nrm into a eq block and a Mesa 2x12 bass cab from my hx stomp. Can I use a ir if I like on the tonex? My plan would to use this pedal as a front of house unit and for recording at home it would never be on my board I probably put it on top of a amp and use that for live unless I go ampless which I’ve had to do before.
