IK TONEX pedal

Can you capture a signal chain + Amp and Cab ... eg. Passive J => Cali76CB => PhatPhuk B (non-od setting) => VT => Noble => Mesa Walkabout => Berg NV212T ...??

I'm guessing yes, other than the specifics of the Passive J

The bass guitar into the chain (Passive J) doesn't effect the capture. Beyond that, you can capture a complex chain of tone shaping equipment and pedals, except for time based effects (delay, reverb, chorus, etc).

I have been enjoying mine so I hadn't looked thru Tonenet lately... lots of additions, but none of them seem to be my thing. I would LOVE to arrange a meet up where we could grill and drink and capture each others gear. I can think of 10 Pre amps off the top of my head i would love to have profiles of.

Amalgam says they'll get a next round of beta to testers this week. To the best of my knowledge they're focused on an existing 1968 Marshall Super Bass 100 , with plans to obtain and do "popular" bass amps (the usual Ampegs, etc) in the future.

I would LOVE to see some more of the old revered pre's from the 90's and such. The kerns and Demeters of the world. No IR, just a good jumping off point. I assume to capture those pre's, you wouldn't need to be concerned with micing and the room etc... maybe I need to actually learn the capture software and get to renting stuff lol.

That’s actually a quite clever idea! Thanks for the pointer-we sometimes meet with other bassists from around the country and then it would be quite suitable to capture the pre‘s in one go. Will now look into this as well.

I am using my Tonex to capture settings from my preamps to reduce pedal board size and have access to presets on devices that don’t allow it. I have a small collection of both pres and basses. It’ll be nice to dial in some solid defaults for my favorite pairings.

I'd love to see people with skill, talent, and gear capture more stuff for bass. And make it available. Maybe sell it.

Watch out for "Capture Cops" around here. Some people are equating things like renting and capturing to stealing. As far as I can tell, there are no laws or court cases on capturing gear. I do find laws against using Trademarks. For example if "Noble" is Trademarked it would be best to not use "Noble" on the capture name. I see IK and other now use wordplay like "Based on Noble ..." and "Based on Dumble ...".
This doesn't seem the violate trademark names.
This is one reason all the modelers have goofed up preset names for gear that has been modeled/captured.

Good luck, and I hope to see piles of bass gear in the capture libraries soon.
