I am a beta tester with no free time until Saturday. Maybe tomorrow. You guys are killing me. I can’t wait.

and yes, 1968 Marshal Super Bass (my birth year) is the amp. For those who didn’t bother to click. 6 profiles in this test set.

Sounds quite good! It’s definitely got some hair/wool to it; I wonder if that’s the most it cleans up, or if it has room to get a bit less furry?

Still, a solid tone which could work in a good many contexts. Nice to see Tonex users finally getting something high-quality on the bass front!

It sounds like that video used one of the more driven captures. There are 24 captures in the set, and they go from very clean to dimed/driven, with most of the captures on the clean side. Also, Tonex is surprisingly good at mimicking the effects of the real amps controls when using the Tonex controls (i.e. drive, bass, mids, treble), so with any capture you can adjust to taste. I'm also finding the captures take pedals (hardware or software) nicely.

They do sound great! They seem to be a little quiet compared to other captures I have, but I can compensate with the “model volume” control fairly well. I am gravitating towards the bright cab captures. Like Soundog mentioned the EQ controls work well, but I feel like it sounds more natural to shave off high frequencies than to add them in. And since none of my cabs have tweeters, with live use I think the brighter tones will be helpful for me. The driven and dimed sound really nice - even with guitar!
Speaking of guitar, I bought the Tone King Imperial and ODS packages, and they are very good as well. Amalgam do a great job!

Well, I managed to get in about an hour with a Bordwell 30” PJ with Barts wearing TI Jazz Flats while exploring the presets briefly, and settling in on some Sir Duke.

I was just playing through the app and my studio monitors (Dyn Audio LYD 48s and the 18s sub) as well as my AKG k712s. Clean Warm Cab was pretty great. I’m interested in exploring the Edge captures in the near future. Crunch and dimed were a little more than I like with the dirt in general, but we’ll see how these sound with DCs and round wounds tomorrow.

I liked the Clean Fat initially, then I didn’t. I think it needs some tweaking for this bass. Not enough time yet. We’ll see tomorrow when I can also turn it up louder.

The GF went to bed early and my limit is about 55-60dbs before it bothers her.

I got the chance to use the Marshall Super profile at band practice today! I stayed on the clean balanced cab the entire time. I have treble and presence turned up a little bit, and it sounded great in the mix - three vocalists, two guitars, drums and bass.

I tried a bunch of the captures on some existing studio tracks, and they sounded great. (I'm really liking Edge Warm with the input volume turned down.) The 24 captures provide a really wide range of tones so I could always find what I needed depending on the bass used and the song. If you have a Tonex, these Super Bass captures are a must. If you're a bass player considering a Tonex, these new captures might be the tipping point for you. Buy yourself a present; you've been good.
