Another DR guy here. My 3 basses are strung, Sunbeams, Nickel Lo-Riders, and heavy gauge HiBeams. I also have me some DDT's that are put away. My only gripe with DR is that I wish their nickel strings would come in a heavy gauge. Why is that I wonder?
adivin said:I am liking the BB more and more. I've never heard a string growl this much.
Just had Hi-Beams put on my Epi Pro V and sound and sustain is amazing. I also have a set of DR Black Beauties on my Ibanez SRX2EX2. I am sold on this brand for sure !!!!
I'm thinking of grabbing a set of black beauties for my black G&L ASAT.
Are these strings steel or nickel?
Coated nickel, round core.
A question if I may. I'm using DR Fat Beams on my AM STD Jazz 5 string and have them strung thru the body. I like them, but sometimes I think I'd like something with just a bit more tension. Not a huge amount, but just that little extra. I bought the bass this past December and I'm still in the experiment mode with strings.
In terms of tension how do the Lo Riders compare to the Fat Beams?
Thanks in advance.
Can anybody help a bro out?
