+1. 24 over 5 strings definitely makes for a large range of possible notes to use, but i do find myself lacking sometimes in the B-string area. as it is now, i generally only use it to play E's n F's a little higher up; would definitely be a good idea to get more use of it. as far as using all the frets, i think i even out the playing time across the board. what got me to branch out was to do tons of scale/arpeggio exercises, drills, and chords.. just build up your chops and play around with octave jumps n watnot.. that should at least help u get out of that first five fret range in the beginning..
