But I wasn't being facetious. I genuinely thought the original poster was so new to bass that they were asking a sincere question. And when you said I was wrong etc I thought you were going to take me to task for suggesting that most famous players are 4 string players, since there are many great players who play more. Then there was that guy in Morphine who played, what, a 2 string bass?

Anyways, like I said, it was just MY advice. And yeah, I acknowledge that my advice isn't worth the paper it's not printed on, but this is a chat forum, so I chatted.

Crappy players certainly CAN go get a Chapman stick.
