I worry about our assisted death legislation, and the possibility of eventual political pressure on chronically ill patients in the face of escalating healthcare costs.

However, those extremes are hopefully still far off in the future.

Meanwhile, we have a relative in late-stage COPD, so I can well understand @pioneer61’s desire to cut this part of the journey short.

My prayers are with you and your family. May you soon find your place amongst the basses in the heavenly chorus, completely free of your present suffering.
