Just the way her left hand fingers are way off of the fretboard. It's not very efficient. It'll slow her way down in the long run. Bad habits die hard.

That's awesome!

My younger brother's wife plays reeds and woodwinds at an A-list level in a big city. He plays bass and keyboards. On the rare occasion when she picks up one of his basses, it's ruthlessly humiliating. My god, she can play that thing, and we're not exactly slouches. It's good to have a wife who understands bass.

About 5 years ago my next door neighbour decided to take up double bass. She was in her mid 60's and now she holds weekly band practices in her house, mainly Swing and Bebop. They were pretty bad when they started, but now they are all a lot better and I can easily listed to them when I'm in the garden. You're never too old to start playing a musical instrument.

she says to her they are more comfortable than my other basses....she absolutely hates my Ric's....

she did recently buy herself a cheap SUB form craigslist for $150.00

in a way i am....but bass is my "thang" you know...I'm a decent rhythm guitar player and a serviceable drummer...i can plays keys a little but nothing like her...i also have a theremin i have taken up in the last few years...but bass has been my "go to" for over 30 years now...it makes me just a little jelly...;)

we tried to get our youngest interested but his fascination with drums didn't last long

lol she can pick stuff up off the floor with her feet...she does it all the time constantly flexing her toes...when we go out, or she goes to work she is always wearing some sexy high heels....(Women and shoes right!?) but at home she is always barefoot...

looks better than it is...most of the stuff I/we own was bought second or third hand...or picked up broken and fixed by me...but there is no shortage that's for sure....

we have 10 basses (12 if you count hers) 5 Electric guitars, 2 Drum sets, a Theremin, Three Keyboards, an Electric Piano, Several clarinets, a saxophone (her dad is a killer player), a flute, 4 bass rigs, 2 guitar rigs, (various practice amps) a complete P.A. System, and several mixing boards of various sizes....lol
