Impulse buy! Gallien Krueger content! (NAD)

I never owned the 1000rb, but I knew someone who did. That guy wouldn't shut up about how perfect it is. I'm not sure about issues, he talked it up like he worked for them.
It was a really great amp for me at the time. My first real amp. Probably early 00's. I had some issues with it. Sent it to an authorized repair shop. Worked for a few more months and the Gremlins showed up again. Tech said it was circuit board issues and they couldn't replace it.

That's a genuine classic and my favorite head in that series, actually probably my favorite of all the GK series heads. It's hard to say what's more impressive, the sound or the reliability. Congratulations on a good decision!

Agreed! Young punk Hum treated it like absolute crap and worked it too hard. Young punk Hum didn't deserve it. Poor thing probably breathed a sigh of relief when it was stolen. But, knowing GK, it probably would have thought its next owner was a pansy. That thing was never going to let me down. They're hardcore. They can fall out of the bottom of a backpack and take a spill down concrete steps and come back for more.

GK power amp sections SLAM! When you hit that string the response is immediate and powerful. The RB line is legendary in my book for reliability and raw power. I've been using a 2001RB for over a decade with no real issues. I took it apart one time to clean the internals and was impressed with how well laid out everything was, no clumsy engineering from an assembly POV. Enjoy that amp when it finally arrives.

GK stuff is so insanely responsive and CLEAN! Everything about them is clean as a whistle.

Woah.

So I saw this come up on reverb..

After thinking about it for all of five minutes, I flipped over the $1,130 AUD (incl shipping) and I can't wait. I have a deep connection with the 700rb ii. I saved up for a second hand one for over a month when I was 17 (it was only a fraction of what I'm paying NOW) and I fell in love. I've been missing the unique character dreadfully since it was stolen all of those years ago. I'm still playing Hartke cabs. I know what I'm getting! Or heck, might pump it through the Eden combo, bypassing the other head which I love too. Or maybe it's bi-amp time! I've never done that! Man! The possibilities! :hyper:

Would.

Bought mine new, years ago, glad I kept it. I have the rack handles in a box, apparently they are extinct and sought after…

I've always wanted one of these but never got around to it yet. Congrats on obtaining one of my dream amps, perhaps give the GK 8X10 a try, those speakers are very nice too.

As much as I would *love* to, I don't remotely need and nor do I want to carry that, haha. I will be pushing it through a Hartke 4x10 at most venues and it will be more than enough. Thanks to all of you lovely fellas, I'm developing GAS for a matching 4x10!

I definitely understand that, I had to sell my Ampeg 8X10 a couple years ago. I had my L3 disc removed from my back two years ago and can't do heavy lifting anymore. Makes me consider going DI from here on out. Also, nice running into you on the forums, I subscribe to your channel too lol!
