In mourning...

My lifelong friend, brother, and bandmate Bobby Neal died suddenly yesterday after a brief illness. He was 55.

He took ill after rehearsing with us on Sunday. By Tuesday he was unresponsive. He was in ICU until Saturday, when it was apparent that the physicians' efforts were not reversing his condition. I was with him and his wife Saturday morning when she made the difficult decision to stop treatment and put him on comfort measures only, and later that afternoon when he peacefully left us, surrounded by family and friends.

Treasure your friends, especially those you get to share this gift of music with.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. Hopefully you have some recordings around of the music you made together.

Always sad to hear. Sorry 4 your loss. Pass your pal's memory on. That's the way people live on in the end, as this song that's stuck with me forever reminds (best mourning song I know). If he represents good moments to you, you'll think of him often, he'll live longer, sounds like the kind of afterlife I'd like (it might look like just YOUR mind, but it's also still HIS imprint living in it). Make it your job to give the man the afterlife he deserves.

Very tragic. Way too young... Sorry for your loss.
