in phase: parallel/series

Feel free to move if i'm not posting in the right forum.

So basically, i've got this Ibanez GaxB short scale model. And i've recently taken teh 3 way tonal charater switch out so it only has a volume wired to the pickup and to the jack ouput. I do still have sound, and i've encountered no problems at all.

But i'm now lacking tone and I wanted to do in-phase parallel and series wiring. (like a gibson ripper bass on the rotary switch: position 1; in-phase series, position 3; in-phase parallel)

1-Which seems like a better "switch" option: 2/3 way switch, a potentiometer, or a rotary (like the ripper bass). If there's another option, feel free to say.

2-how do i go about wiring the pickup in pahse parallel and series depending on the "switch" options in #1?

the one pickup has 4 conductors for series/parallel?

with one passive pickup like that you'll probably find anything other than series to just be kinda weak and disappointing.

Individual push/pull volume pots will give you the most series/parallel options; I did that mod to my Dingwall and it's killer ;)

Few ways might do this.

1) Two Push/Pull knobs, 1/ Series/Parallel 2/Phase one pickup

2) using a 5Way super switches (4P5T)
Super switch will let you pick it how you want as each connection . So could have NECK/Parallel/Series/Phase Parallel/Bridge

If you use a Push/Pull along with this you could have every option .

Yeah, you don't have access to both coils with only two wires. You'd need four.

Which bums me out because yesterday I designed and whipped up a circuit with these exact features that I was excited to show you.
