Instant Classic Basses

Fender should make a new bass (just to mix things up)
You mean like the Jaguar? Or the Urge? or the Roscoe Beck? Or the Performer? Or the Heartfield? Or the Coronado? Or...

Tobias/MTD, Fodera, and Warwick are the only ones making basses that could be considered classics that aren't direct Fender copies. I'm not a fan of any of them, but they're proven themselves over time.

Sadowsky basses are all old.

I'm sure things like the Spectors, USA Lakland models, Sadowskies, and other high end basses will always have some appeal.

Lakland Skylines probably not so much, and everyone knows that G&L will never make it big. Many basses simply will just become old, like, for instance, Ibanez SoundGear Basses.

The market is so glutted with options, I dont think there really is going to any true classics, only classic years for already classic models.

If you want a classic model, get a bass, and give it to a bunch of famous, high profile, players.

Maybe then...
