Instrument cable help...

Alright are Mogami cables worth what they are asking for a instrument cable?? I use ProCo cables at this time and was wondering if you would hear the difference. thank you

I don't know about mogami .
I use Vovox sonorus cables and find that they are worth it.

The ProCo cables you are using are fine for live work. High end cables can be worth the extra if you get a good price but for live work it will not be worth the extra expense imho. In the studio the better cables can often shine through. Same goes for enhanced speaker and power cables.

Nope, no difference. I have several Mogami cables and the build quality is nice but blindfolded you wouldn't notice a difference and I have cables that are 1/4 the price that have lasted longer without issues.

IMO, cables that offer lifetime warranty are worth it in the long run.

If I need to purchase anything else (I'm stocked up right now), I will not buy Monster, because you have to pay to ship them back to the factory now. You used to be able to do the swap at the retail shop (GC, etc). I don't want to spend the $5 if I don't have to.

I think Lifelines does an in store swap now.

A decent cable will last a lot longer than a cheapie if you look after it, IMO.

There's not a massive difference in sound but unless you want to be replacing broken cables every couple of months, spend some cash on a couple of good ones.

Or, alternatively, learn to solder (if you can't already) and make your own from good quality parts.

I've spent good money on cables that have crapped the bed, and bought cheap cables that have lasted a decade. I decided to go with cheaper cables and learn how to solder.

I bought all my instrument cables from you jolly jokers in the classifieds. I've lost one to a band member we kicked out...well worth the sacrifice, trust me. One is a Whirlwind, the balance is Planet Waves.

Guess it's a moot point as I'm now going wireless.

Most cables are good cables. The only cable that ever failed me in in the 40 years I've been playing was Monster Cable. I don't do major consumer brand anymore anyway.

When I'm not using home-made cable I'll typically use cheap Live Wire or something similar with a lifetime warrenty. I've never had a Live Wire ever crap out on me.

I have two cables on my radar at the present time too...but my selections came down to the Analysis Pro Oval and the Zaolla cables....the Zaolla is pure silver 99.75% and the Analysis is a proprietary oval design in copper...

NEW INFO: Zaolla AND Analysis Plus cables , both have their ends soldered..

The analysis Pro has limited life time warranty on the cable...

Still trying to find more information on the Zaolla cable!!
