Philip K Dick. Isn't he the guy who wrote "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"?
Yes, to name but one of his books.
My favorite Sci-Fi author, btw.

Thanks for all of that. I greatly appreciate it. Allow me to quote from another of my Immortals, the journalist/novelist/poet Stephen Crane, who died at 28 from TB. All his poems are untitled, but I wish I'd found his work at the time I was experiencing what I felt to be an unbroken string of failures. This from the collection War is Kind and Other Lines.
I didn't know about Crane until after my career in music journalism crashed and burned. The title of Taylor's CD is actually very similar to the titles of Crane's collected poetry. The CD has a single titled "Feelings 'r Good," so the title Feelings are Good and Other Lies is a description of the contents of the CD.Well, there's another artwork to track down. I've read Crane's fiction, but not his poetry.
War is Kind and Other Lines...Was that the inspiration for John Taylor's album title? If so, did you two ever talk about him?
Thank you, Tommy. I used to live in Stavanger!Hi Tom!
I have been following this thread since the beginning, and I just wanted to say thank you for sharing.

I loved it. I saw Nils-Henning Ørsted-Pedersen at the Red Sea House there. I was sitting no more than five feet away from him, and it was the only time I ever saw him use an electric bass.I'm leaving for Stavanger this Friday. It's a great city. If those streets could talk...
By the way, you've all convinced me.
I've begun the process of pitching my memoirs to agents and/or publishers. There was once a book titled Advice from a Failure, so the title will be something to do with failure, being haunted, and overcoming it.
I have a zillion more stories about the entertainment business in L.A. that I haven't posted here because they're not bass related, so that will make it more juicy.
It may not happen, because it's harder than hell to get published these days. Don't get your hopes up.
But you've convinced me to try, and it'll be under my real name.

Thanks so much, but I can take care of myself now. I can demonstrate to them up close and personal the more unsavory symptoms of Meniere's disease.Excellent! I think it can be said that you have a throng of buyers here.
And if you get any of those snooty 'readers' at any of your signings, well, I think we can get a 'security detail' set up here...
Thanks very much. I made up my mind and sent a query to an editor a few minutes ago. What he says will determine the next step, because he knows the publishing industry inside and out and can tell me if it's viable or not.Tom,
You memoirs would be a great HBO or Showtime series a la Entourage or Californication.
If I ever win the lottery, I will finance you 100%!
Stavanger is a cool place. Can't recall the name of it, but there's a pub with a selection of hundreds of beers from all over the world.
