I've been trying to get my rig situated in a neater setup. Having it all on the floor at my feet would be cool.

So, it's all up to Positive Grid. We need a docking interface, on the floor, that allows charging while you play AND has expression pedal inputs. Plus foot switches to change presets. Kinda like the Blueboard, only both Bluetooth AND 30-pin. So we can charge, play, and have full control of presets in one unit.

Bonus points if its black. :)

With the headphone/mic jack, it ain't gonna be just a LITTLE hum. And through the FOH all of that noise will be amplified. I tried my iRig through my PA. There's no words to describe how bad it sounded. The Jam (and its clone the iRig HD) is silent.

A midi pedal would work great, and Jamup allows you to assign the buttons, but the problem happens when you use the 30-pin input for your audio interface.

Is it possible to make a 30-pin "Y" adapter? If so, you could use the Apogee Jam for audio, and something like the iRig Midi for switching.

I wanted to add to this even though you can change these settings. Some apps while open in the background can control your latency....so you might want to close all except the one you want to play through to make sure. Having too many apps "open" can also spend to much processor and drain battery life so often double click your home button and close out all apps.

Serious +1.

I've forgotten to close apps at practice, and had problems with latency. It doesn't hurt to completely reboot your device from time to time as well.

Don't hold your breath... for a company that doesn't like to speculate on future products you could almost say they are speculating because it takes so damn long for the announced products to actually launch! Keep in mind that this Blueboard required Bluetooth 4.0 which counts out most Mac computers that are not new in the last 2 years or so and any iDevices older than the iPhone 4S.. I believe the iPad2 has Bluetooth 2.x so it WILL NOT be complatible.

A device reboot several times a week is a good idea in general but especially if you will playing in a situation where latency is BAD :bassist::bassist:

Ouch. That has bitten me before, a new stylus I wanted but only works with Bluetooth 4. I've promised myself to not by any more Apple pads, I'm keeping my iPad 2 for music and graphics but the next tablet will not be an iOS device.

The version I'm using could stand a few bug fixes, especially the jumpy controls

Drives me nutty to try and go from 2.0 to 3.0 with a dial and wind up at 18 and have to tickle it back into the right place.

Sometimes I get a strange echo/chorusy effect on patches with no echo or chorus enabled but I haven't been able to consistently do that.

Paul, being a beta tester do you get earlier releases?

Not really. The version I worked with was a "work in progress". The version you all use is the completed one. Mine was buggy, but it was a test bed, so to speak.

I'm just now upgrading to the paid version of the bass expansion 2 (already have the first one). The test version was buggy, but the whole point of beta testing is to find all those bugs before it is released.

So the beta testing was fun. I stress WAS. I'm running the same Jamup as everyone else, no secret formulas or anything like that.

All my test presets need transferred.

Quick question for the group:

In Jamup, what settings do you use on the LA-2A for peak limiting?

The LA2 lack features for peak limiting or compression. But I use it for very mild limiting or compression, so peak limiting under 40, mostly under 20
