I had some trouble with it earlier but finally got it to work. I want to talk about the clip from black mercy but want to listen with in-ears first .....but.... so far very interesting, surf metal.

I think you'll like it through headphones, aside from the scratch track bleed into the drum mic during quiet parts. It should be covered easily by the lead track. The chords our guitarist strums during the surfy part are some weird complimentary arrangement that is most noticeable in phones. I'm glad you like it.

Stupid question using audiobus has anyone run Amplitube into jamup or vice versa?

Do they play nice?

Cone lots of times, but generally you will notice that apart from Adam and me who like the Dual Showman on Amplitube, not many use Amplitube, not before or after or alone.
If I use two apps together it will be Jamup and Ampkit. Ampkit have the best fuzz and chorus out there, and Ampkit is the only app to offer real stereo.

I think crazily I'm going to get me an iRig Stomp.

Going to have it on my main board so I can easily patch in my ipad for additional fx or synths, it's not something I want to use all the time but having the iRig Stomp on the board all the time will be very handy for quick hook ups, then I think I'll be getting the Line 6 Sonic Port as my proper audio interface.

Basically now I don't want to replace my pedalboard with the iPad but I do want to augment it and have a lot more functionality available at my finger tips while the proper audio interfaces get sorted.

The one thing I do want is my session setup available in the iPad, a bunch of presets and fx that I can do what I do with my board, so when doing home studio sessions I'm not carrying a ton of gear for an effect I might use once or twice.

Going to practice more with my Ditto looper and then move on to Loopy HD instead of jumping in at the deep end.

Going to start my iPad & Bass only ep recording on Friday, give me some focus in my life

IRig Stomp is a piece of junk. Sorry to say this, but today with all the great interfaces which utilities the 30pin or lightning port, ANY interface which still feeds bass signal into your iDevice through the headphone socket is a stairway to hiss, cross talk and feedback.
It took ages for IK Multimedia to release the iRig HD, I've no idea why they gave out the iRig Stomp as it is, same goes to iRig Mixer. Both could be extra ordinary products.
Arrrrrg, "here I go again" IK have a tendency of hissing me up, they still haven't fixed the switches on the B15R, but I guess they will wait for the release of iOS7 so they could brag about it....

Found a 32gb iPhone 4S on eBay today that was listed as near flawless condition so I pulled the trigger on it. Looking forward to finally running some Audiobus goodness when it arrives. I deleted it from my iPhone 4 due to the poor performance with the single core chip.

I haven't tried the Stomp, but if it's anything like the original iRig interface, then I have to agree. It started the ball rolling, but it is a piece of you know what sound-wise combined with the headphone input. Go digital otherwise you'll have noise, feedback, hiss, ...

I started a new recording yesterday.

Several years ago, I wrote a song called "It Has to Be". It was written after my third marriage fell apart (yeah, I'm a professional at getting hitched!), and was actually a really well-written song.

I recorded it at the time on my Roland VS880EX, but stupidly didn't make a backup. At some point, I deleted the recording off the VS's hard drive, and it was lost ever since.

Yesterday, while digging around in my basement, I came across the lyric sheet. So I decided to redo the recording, this time using my iOS rig.

I've got the basic tracks (drums, rhythm guitar, and bass) done. Today I'm gonna work on the vocals. The song totally fits into this acoustic project I've been hyping over the last few weeks.

I'll post it later if I can manage to get the vocals done (kids are home today so it might not be easy).

Also, I've got an audition next week for a cover band, that runs everything DI, so I'll be able to play ampless. Exciting!

Feels good to be excited about music again.

I did use Amplitube last night.
The drummer couldn't make it and we kinda did an acoustic sort of set. I some times will use the dual showman. But I used the b15r and tried different cabs during the run through and stuck with the dual showman 2x15 cab it had a more detailed mid section. Also on the amp i used the ultra low switch on (even though by looking at it you can't tell if it is on or not) but with the sound of it, a/b'ing the switch, it was on . And the sm 57 mic. It sounded great. I have also used the slash 4x12 cab, and the 4x12b cab too with the b15. They sound great too.

IK has definitely made us around here irate with their lack of attention to us bass players. But I still use the app. For crying out loud, I sure have bought enough in-app purchases to not get use out of it.

The app needs more bass amps ....period. The amps they have are great, sure. But the options and sound quality of jamup and the attention they give to the bass player with pedals that are geared to be for bass players and the number of amps. Jamup is still king in the bass amp department.

IK said like over a year ago there were more bass amps in the works .....but hello....hello. IK? nope no "dedicated" bass amps since the b15r. Since then jamup has had not two bass amps but two bass expansion bundles. I love jamup and AT. Jamup loves us bass players back. That's the difference.

Are there any options for a pedal audio interface, I need something I can leave on my board and patch in, would rather not go the TB loop and interface route (will if needs be)

None that sound good. Stay away from headphone/mic jack interfaces. No matter the hype, they're still prone to crosstalk and noise.

Really? There's an iRig HD and an iRig Stomp, but no Stomp HD unless I've missed somehing. And an email from IK saying there will be no Stomp HD ... but they may of course have changed their minds since I got that.

There's nothing coming...I was just messing around about IK's iRig and then coming out with all the other just as bad headphone port using products that have the same flaw. Then coming out with what should have been in the first place (iRig HD).

Could be worse you could have paid what I paid for my iRig adaptor when they were brand new around iPad 1 release something along the lines of 3 times the cost today.

my only thing with the iRig Stomp is it's for live, I can live with a bit of hum over convenience especially with the vintage vibe I got for, I just wonder if it's good enough, like my fender blender, has no leds, takes up loads of space, the none boost side is worthless but it's just good enough to get used all through the set

Yeah for sure, I just need someone to create a midi to bluetooth adaptor for something like the Softstep and I'd be sorted.

To me everyone seems to be missing the mark with the accessories in one way or another.

The Softstep with something like a Roland Duo-Capture EX would be great for my use, with both MIDI and digital Audio, but not for your use on a pedalboard of course.

Yeah that's why I sold my IO Dock, too much time and money trying to get it work and end of the day its 16bit and you have to majorly faff to get a Ipad 3 in it and as soon as I get a 4 I'm scuppered.

Hmm.. The iRig Stomp as a 30-pin interface would be pretty cool, actually.

I've been trying to get my rig situated in a neater setup. Having it all on the floor at my feet would be cool.

So, it's all up to Positive Grid. We need a docking interface, on the floor, that allows charging while you play AND has expression pedal inputs. Plus foot switches to change presets. Kinda like the Blueboard, only both Bluetooth AND 30-pin. So we can charge, play, and have full control of presets in one unit.

Bonus points if its black.
