I've always liked him its just on most of the albums he's on you can't hear him....

You can hear him on the new project. He sings also! The EP is pretty good. I'll definitely get the full album. Classic thrash sound with some nods thrown sabbaths way.

I've got an audition tonight. After the fiasco of my last band, I wasn't really looking but this one dropped into my lap.
The band is classic rock/modern rock stuff, close to my house (always a plus), as dig this: NO amps!! The whole band runs direct, and uses IEMs. Exactly what I need!!

Thanks, guys. Yeah, I'm hoping for great attitudes more than talent at this point! Very positive attitude going into this, really hoping for the best. They rehearse close to my house, minimal gear required... It's the perfect situation.

Not that I was ignoring anyone's advice but going to get the iRig stomp at the weekend and I'll explain the reasoning.
My main board is a Pedaltrain One and it's absolutely full, I don't drive and get trains or buses everywhere and tbh its overly heavy but due to it's nature I'm not willing to minimise it, it has everything that has ever worked for me over the past 8 years and is essentially perfect, other than weight.
I've played with the iPad a lot over the past week and come to the following conclusions for me:
So the iPad is going to become my light weight rig but with the above in mind, my only option is the iRig Stomp, all the other audio interfaces will be in my chain all the time or use the 3.5mm to send audio out. I'm going to mount it on a PT Nano with a Polytune Mini, Subdecay Prometheus DLX and a Ditto looper.
This is my short term solution to allow me to patch in the odd fx or so from the iPad which I can pick with my fingers, I'm going to try and get a workable fuzz solution from it, if not I'll stick one of my Mojo Hand fuzz's or get an Amp Tweaker Tight Fuzz. The point of this board is to be able to do "anything" and be light enough to go anywhere as well.
Eventually once interfaces and control surfaces get better and become more available the ditto will be replaced with Loopy HD and I'll be able to replace the tuner as I'll be able to turn it on and off with my feet. But currently even if I get a blueboard the switching in these apps is archaic.
The irig stomp is like £30 or something here it's like 1/3 the cost of any of the other audio interfaces that I'd still need to add a TB loop to.
Will be an interesting time, looking forward to actually running the iPad into an amp for once.

- I HATE! using a 3.5mm cable for audio to an amp
- The iRig isn't all that noisy, if you're running fx only then it's not bad at all.
- The filters are all a bit naff
- The fuzz's aren't amazing but the Fender Blender and B:Assmaster clones might be viable

I understand your reasoning, but I think you would be happier with your tone if you put an Apogee Jam in a true bypass loop, so you could patch it in at will.
But I'd have to faff and put the iPad in the loop as well due to the 3.5mm out the only option to me was the Line 6 but it's not available everywhere yet, for £30 I'll take the chance and worst case it'll be usable at home where I just want the iPad into an amp quick, no messing with loads of adaptors and different cables etc etc

Hope you guys don't mind, but I'm gonna gripe a bit and it's sorta iOS related.
Some of you guys know I play in two bands, one being Jade Season with April, and the other being a dance rock band called UGT. We're a bit of a big deal locally, making some waves, playing some really good paying gigs and becoming a regional draw. The guitarist and I are new to the band, coming from another band that had gone under due to the drummer's work schedule and overtime. We work very hard, and have the understanding that when you rehearse, you come to practice prepared, with your parts learned and down cold. Rehearsals are for assembly, not for hammering out the shape of the bumpers and deciding whether or not you're building a truck or a car.
It's been going on for some time now that the singer and the drummer, who are both founding members of this band, come to practice very ill-prepared. So much so that it takes upwards of 2-3 hours to get two songs sorted out. On top of that, I set us up to rehearse using IEMs, and the drummer constantly bitches at me about not being able to hear anything, all the while beating the holy hell out of his drums. For the same reasons Rip has mentioned in the past, I wanted this transition, because his drums and cymbals were so loud during rehearsals that it was flat-out deafening. And instead of buying the sound-isolating buds I suggested, he bought a set of Westones that actually cost more, but bleed volume in. The guitarist and I are both running iOS rigs are rehearsal, so we've really been able to dial in an fantastic rehearsal mix and replicate how we monitor live. To me, it's been helpful, except for the drummer and to a somewhat smaller degree, the singer's lack of preparation.
Maybe that is the norm for some bands, but we're not talking Rush or Dream Theater here, we're talking about Nothin' But A Good Time and Ke$ha's Crazy Kids. Not exactly musically taxing, and it's apparent that two of us didn't do our homework.
And while we eventually get the songs nailed down, it's pretty frustrating to commit this amount of time to working out songs and then come to rehearsal and other members haven't committed the time to the work that is necessary.
It's gotten to the point that, after our gigs in August and September, I don't know if I want to continue with this project, regardless of whether or not it's monetarily lucrative.
To top off the issues, it's also apparent that the drummer, who is the BL more or less, doesn't know his parts, and doesn't know the sets very well, and the singer is FOREVER looking at her lyric sheets. The drummer has decided he wants to do a side project of a Queensryche tribute band as well, which will further put us behind the 8-Ball when it comes to keeping our paying gig in order. Previous attempts to right this ship have been met with the word "douchebag" due to the way in which it was handled, with frustration boiling over into an explosion.
Now, I still think that if the right tack is taken, things could get back into a more productive mode and we can rescue this as a group. However, it's been a long standing issue with these guys (I've subbed with them on several occasions in the past). They've felt that if they've done the songs for X amount of times they no longer need to rehearse them, and should be able to recall them at will. Which I agree, should be the case. But it doesn't appear to work out that well when two of the 4 members are the only ones rehearsing the songs on their own.
Anyone have any suggestions as to how you politely tell someone to pull their head out of their posterior, and start taking the work seriously, because we're past the point of weekend warrior bands where apathy is sometimes par for the course. Our gigs are paying the band in the lower- to mid-four figure range and are covering multiple states now, and it's embarrassing to go onstage and have a song that we should KNOW cold nearly trainwreck in front of 1,500 people. It's not the level of professionalism I expect and, like I said, it's extremely embarrassing.

That sucks, man. I feel your pain.
The whole time I dealt with that egotistical crap from my drummer, he was doing the same thing. He never bothered to learn anything, down to the drum intro to Talk Dirty To Me. Simple kick and snare pattern, he never bothered, just threw his own fill in, which threw me off every time. Then he'd bitch me out for not being able to groove with him. Did the same for damn near every song, just played it "his way". When I brought it up, his response was "my way sounds better", never mind the fact that the original sold how many copies??
Unfortunately I had to reschedule my audition last night, due to chaos that happened during the afternoon.
Keep your head up, man. It can only get better. At least you're getting the good gigs. Try to hold them together as well as you can, and do a lot of counting to ten and muttering under your breath. It helps.

Once it was over I was sad but more relaxed and I enjoy music a lot more these days because it's not making me money (or trying to) I just go and play, play what I want how I want and people can take or leave it as long as I'm having fun but I'm not trying to make anything of myself (anymore) in the music biz.
To me music should be fun, if you want money get a job

Ugh … the infamous re-working of the drum line. I learned the bassline for that Ke$ha song based of the snare pattern in the song (listen in the verse, and you'll actually hear a really tasty groove there). So when we get to rehearsal, I've based my line on that groove and made it really swing hard. And he steps in with something that misses the mark entirely, because he's unfamiliar with the song. Talk about the air going right out of the balloon. LOL
I don't make my day job money with this band, but its easily 2-3 times more than the average band gets paid locally, so its hard to get the grief-to-dollars ratio out of balance. But man oh man is it getting there. Wednesday's rehearsal will be interesting.
Granted, he likely bitches about the guitar player and I taking things way to seriously, but we both come from orchestral/symphony/jazz band backgrounds where you had your business wired tight or you were replaced without a second thought. Plus I've been fortunate enough to be in bands with musicians who took the music very seriously, and the result was some pretty amazing work that was really great to be a part of.
My iOS rig for rehearsals (and live gigs with Jade Season) is as follows. Fairly run of the mill stuff. Bass to interface to board, monitor send to transmitter to bodypack.
Bass -> Focusrite iTrack Solo -> JamUpXT (whatever patch and effects arrangement I need) -> Direct Box -> Board. From there, I take my monitor send, go into my BBE Sonic Maximizer (yeah, only 1/4" ins on a 382, but it works, and MAN does it make a difference, and I'll be adding in some compression and noise gate and EQ soon enough as well), and into my transmitter (a cheapie Galaxy but it really doesn't do bad for coffeehouse stuff and rehearsals) to my body pack to my Shure IEMs.
The guitarist runs his signal similarly by running his guitar to his outboard effects into Amplitube, as well as his keys into Sampletank, to a direct box to the board on one channel and monitors back to him on a similar route. Last night he used one of the inputs on my BBE SM and was overly thrilled with the result.
Something else I forgot to mention about the whole thing too, that was rather humorous. So the drummer asked the guitar player if he could use his board for the Queensryche tribute band rehearsals, (all musicians we know and trust) and it was OK. When he asked me if he could use our IEM set up, I told him that wasn't really a possibility because we each own our own IEM packages, but these other guys were welcome to bring theirs and run similarly if they have them. He said he wasn't sure they had them, and it was sad that musicians in this day and age didn't own their own IEMs.
Including him, who has to use a send from the main mixing buss to monitor instead of a monitor buss because he doesn't have his own headphone amp.

You're making me feel bad for selling my PSM200 setup 
but I always struggle getting a monitor feed sent to me without carrying a 12u rack for the onstage mixing
