Well, I figured out a way to continue working towards a single signal chain and rack for my iOS rig. I have an old (very old, but sturdy) Sonic 4U rack that currently houses an older Digitech Studio S100, my BBE 362, and my GA900 IEM system. So I bought a Raxxess Universal 1U rack space shelf with the slots drilled in the bottom for bottom-mounted items, and will be installing my Audio Technica ATW700 wireless in it. Sitting right NEXT to that will be my Focusrite iTrack Solo (with a little velcro) and an extension cable for my iPhone so it will be able to be attached outside the rack, as well as a Cablejive DockStubz Plus converter so I can charge my iPhone at the same time that I am using it to process my signal. Next to the iTrack will be the DI box, front facing so all connections that need to be made will be on the front (something I liked about the DI on my GK from back in the day). All of the power components will be connected to a surge protected power supply in the back of the rack that will be velcro'd in place and have all of the wires neatly zip-tied out of the way.

The Raxxess should be here on Tuesday, I'll try to get it installed and get some pics of it after it gets here. It'll be in use (somewhat) on this upcoming weekend's festival gigs in Iowa and Illinois, so I'll let you guys know how it performs. Should be interesting. I also have an Art CleanBox Pro on the way to handle the unbalanced phono to balanced XLR conversion, and if it works the way it looks like it works, I could actually run a balanced XLR monitor signal into this at the same time and send that to the BBE, to the GA900 and to my ears.

I see no reason why it wouldn't be a great setup. I can definitely see a rack of some sort in my future as well. I'm still ironing out the specifics due to my recent needs regarding IEMs, but its going to be a lot easier to travel with if its all in a rack.

Dude. Wow. I can't believe how cool this is. I could sit here for HOURS, just making goofy noises, and I've only used it with Sunrizer so far!!

I'm having some latency issues but as soon as I get it all figured out I'm sure it will track a bit better. But I'm digging it and its definitely gonna get some use.

Yeah, I'd assume the feedback is a result of the iRig. A digital interface will eliminate that.

Here's a quick clip I did using Midimorphosis to control Sunrizer, then mixed with the Acoustic 360 in Jamup via the craziest Audiobus connection I've done to date!!

All tracks (2 of them, I was able to assign the synth to one track, the straight bass to another) recorded in MTDAW.

This is one track, recorded obviously off the top of my head.

The path is bass to Apogee Jam to iPhone 4S, running Audiobus and Midimorphosis to link Jamup to Sunrizer, so when I play my bass, it triggers whatever synth sound I choose and I have full mixing controls. I can also link it to GarageBand to play drums and guitar triggered by my bass sound, which goes through Jamup.

Whew!!

Well, this sorta sucks. And it's sorta cool, but it also sorta sucks. The cool part is first.

We're opening for Jackyl when they appear locally at a bike rally. The bad news? I have to use an amp and not in-ears. So, my Acoustic B810 is coming out of retirement.

I have no idea how we ended up on the bill. We're a dance band. But we do play some older rock and a few newer rock songs, so maybe it'll all blow over well enough. LOL

I'm gonna snag that app now... Came across a video for another iOS app that has been around for a bit but I never messed with it until seeing some YT vids of it in action... downloaded it and it is completely and totally addicting!! IMPAKTOR is the app name, developed by Beep Street. It's a drum synthesizer that works with input from the mic, or I imagine the JAM or other interface.. It lets me play drums that way I find most natural - with my hands/fingers tapping out complex rhythms I would otherwise be unable to play on a real kit or drum machine.... It's AUDIOBUS capable also!

Made this test in about 2 minutes to just demonstrate how fast you can create something complex and musical..
