iOS Bass Players Thread #5, V, or cinco, take yer pick.

Rip: The Cleanbox handles the incoming line from the board, passes it to the BBE to clean enhance the signal, and then that enhanced signal goes to my IEMs. And I agree they have lots for the iOS artist and their stuff is pretty malleable. They were the only ones I found to handle incoming and outgoing signals, something I needed in my small rig. Perhaps there's more out there, but where it is, I don't know.

I could definitely make use of more GB tracks, though I've been recording for long enough that I've gotten quite good at planning my tracks. So when I get to the point of needing to bounce, I'm able to group them in a way that makes sense to me. Typically that means guitar tracks get bounced together, at least down to two (left and right), there aren't any tracks that get in my way.

It's all about planning your recording, and making sure you don't throw any tracks down too early.

But merging tracks means you won't be able to edit them in the future.

Yesterday I wanted to double the bass track (one for the clean bass and another one with an envelope filter) but I didn't have more tracks.

In adittion I discovered a new drum app (DRUM ON) that now has Audiobus support. Although you can't build a pattern it has really cool and realistic drum sounds and you can also apply effects to them. So I built the rythm on DM1 and added extras from this app - mainly cymbals because I got bored of the same DM1 or GB drum sounds. This means using another track in GB.

Quick update on the hearing saga.

Just returned from the third audiologist appointment. After yet another hearing test, it was confirmed that what the first test showed was accurate. I have virtually no hearing below 40db.

But it gets better. The normal treatment for an injury like this is a course of Prednisone. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to it, so I'm left with option B.

In 8 weeks, I go back for another hearing test to determine if there has been any improvement. If there isn't any improvement, I'll be getting injections of Cortisone through my eardrums (both ears) into my inner ear.

Sound like fun? Yeah, me neither.

The moral of the story: "If its too loud, you're too old" is a stupid way of thinking.

OK, thanks for the tip!

I've been following the iOS threads a little on and off, and have been using the free version of JamUp to learn and practice songs when we're playing them in a different key. I'm really a little overwhelmed by the tech stuff, but this looks like a great deal so I went for it.

My question is, what interface do I use for the iPad 4? Last time I checked these threads it seemed like there weren't any out yet for the lightning connector. What do you guys recommend?
