I'd have never believed what this setup can do if it had not been for this thread. I'm planning to go Ipad to house mixer at practice Sunday afternoon. I think the options are almost unlimited.
Funny side, I called my wife back to where I was practicing last night telling her she was going to see the neatest thing since sweet potato fries, I started the music, joined in on bass, and was just about doing the snoopy dance, I look at her and she says, “yeah so?” Either she had no idea or else she always expects wonderful things out me.

That just tells you that the sound from iOS and jamup is great because she didn't say anything bad so there wasn't anything to notice it sounded like there was nothing out of the ordinary. Kinda like ..... No one pays attention to the sound guy unless there's a feedback problem ....then they get a lot of attention. :)
I use mine in worship all the time since the no amp on stage policy. It works fantastic through FOH. Miles above the stale bass to DI only.

The alpha apears to be usb powered so....unless there is another way to power the lexicon then no. The Idevices do not power through the USB port the interface would have to be USB data stream only and self powered. Like my ART USB dual pre.

I imagine that the USB cable that normally would be going to the computer would run through the camera connection kit into the ipad and the split hub part would run to the lexicon.

There's lots of info on this elsewhere. Including the Auria website, I think.

Simply put, you need a powered USB hub in between the Lexicon and the iPad/CCK. That means one with a wall wart, that puts out the proper DC voltage to power the USB buss. Belkin makes one that's known to be good.

You'll plug the Hub into the wall. Then you'll plug your audio interface into one of the USB ports on the hub, so the hub can power it.

Meanwhile, you'll use the CCK and a regular USB cable as an adapter, to connect your iPad to another port on the USB hub. The CCK doesn't pass buss power from the hub, so your iPad won't charge while it's connected to this arrangement.

However, what the CCK does do, is pass data. So the Lexicon and the iPad will see each other right through the USB hub, and you'll be rocking digital audio in both directions.

Everything has to be powered up in a specific order to work properly, but there's lots of information out there if you google it...

For the Loopy HD experts:

I gave it a try today due to the reviews this program received. I don't have my bass so I'm trying it with the voice and didn't find it that useful.

What I think is that when i'll be playing my guitar I'll have both hands on the instrument so I won't be able to start/stop the recording on time, so the tracks will have blank spaces that can't be edited and are out of time. Am I doing something wrong?

You can set it to "count in" so you are hands free.

My question: Is there a way to change the input from the mic to something you are running into the iPad?

You can also set up the metronome to play during your first track.

The first track you lay down is what all other tracks are timed from. So what you can do is record the first one by playing along with either the metronome, or by importing a drum track.

Then you can loop your other tracks at will, and delete the original drum track if you like. Otherwise, you'll have to time everything just right.

I'm currently using my iPad with my band. I've been triggering sound effects samples using Instant Audio Cartwall, which allows me to create labeled buttons and assign a sample to each. But it's not Audiobus compatible so I can't play a synth via MIDI at the same time. Is there an Audiobus compatible app or something else that will do this simply? I don't need looping, pitch transposition, or anything - just simple sample triggering.
