Dude, you should have seen the bikes there today!! Literally hundreds went through throughout the afternoon, and not just stock stuff, either.
This afternoon we had a much better show than last night, even though we froze. It was windy and in the 50's, cold enough to make it difficult to play and stay warm.
This was taken this morning when I first got there, around 10:00. By lunchtime the entire parking lot was full of bikes. I was totally in my element. Can't ride anymore but I still love them.
I used Jamup today, and it was awesome to run it through four 2x15" PA cabs with subwoofer support. The Blueline was the amp of choice for our classic rock noise, and I got a SLAMMING bass sound through the FOH. Jamup sounds great through my normal system, which is about half of what we used today, but today it was an absolute MONSTER. Can't stress that enough. Calvin and gang have really delivered.
I'm in an incredible amount of pain, but it was totally worth it.

I'm strongly considering grabbing an Apogee Jam to use with my iPhone 5 for practicing and various other things while I'm traveling for work.
One question that I came up with...is it possible to power the iPhone while using it? I know some of you use this type of rig for live work too. If I were to play a typical bar band cover gig with it, how much battery life would I be looking at?

Unfortunately, there's no way to charge while using the Jam. I use mine for bar gigs, and honestly, as long as you start with a full charge (use airplane mode and close all other apps) you'll be fine.
I've used mine (starting at full charge) for band practice and had no problems. A three hour practice didn't deplete the battery the whole way.
If you take a second to throw it on the charger between sets, you'll be fine. That's how I do it.
I used mine last weekend for a three hour show and didn't need to charge. Of course, I didn't use it between sets, so if you can't stop yourself from playing on your phone between sets, you better get it on a charger!!
Cool! Good to know. I don't see myself doing it often, it at all (we rarely have full PA support), but it's nice to know the option is there.

I have been using a Behringer BDI21 as my direct box (after the iPhone, before PA), but really any direct box will work.
I use the BDI21 because I already had one, plus if something goes wrong with the iOS rig, I can swap a few cables and be back up and running very quickly.
I should add that I don't actually use the effect of the BDI21. It's simply there as a direct box and to give me a longer cable run.

Just a standard 1/8" to 1/4" cable to connect the phone to the DI? Or is it something specific?
IMPORTANT: Put the iPhone/iPad into Airplane Mode to keep everything else off. And force quit ALL other open apps except for those you need to play. It's things like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS/location (which many apps use to keep track of your location for ads, etc.) and push/scheduled messages/email that eats battery life - not most apps. Think you'd get a couple of hours easy.
JAM does not recharge. Plug in charger immediately during breaks, etc.
Another plus of the JAM imo is it can serve double duty as a instrument input into a Mac as well. Cable for JAM>USB is included in the box.
Yes, that's an Acoustic amp, though nothing exciting. It's the GC version of Acoustic, the B200 combo.
On top of the amp is my PA mixer (Carvin Rx1200L).
One other thing worth mentioning.
If using your iPhone to run amps and effects, ALWAYS be sure to turn off your alarms. They will still go off if you're in Airplane Mode. Lol. Ask me how I know?

Had one of my alarms go off during band practice, in the middle of a ballad. Of course, the alarms take over the audio of the iPhone until you turn them off. Through a 3600 watt PA, they sound MASSIVE. Lol.
