Hi guys I just relocated to Ankeny. What is music scene like in DM metro and Central Iowa in general?

Also can anyone recommend a bass tech for set ups and stuff? I came from South Florida, so probably due for an adjustment........

Also a music store other than guitar center that a bass player would enjoy.

We relocated due to wife's promotion, so I'm still looking for work, but it seems ok so far.

I just had him check my setup today. His name is Ian. He has always treated me right.

That GC is horrible. I say that even though I know lots of people that work there. Go to Pro Music on 86th.

Ian's a solid dude. He installed the Lollar pups in my Epi Thunderbird and did a great job.

Thanks guys. I've been to that GC and got a horrible first impression. One or two employees looked like they were contemplating suicide and check in guy was beyond wierd.

I might just use gift card for strings and do my setup at pro music, but if you guys are saying Ian is a good setup guy than I might just kill two birds with one stone.

Just to let you guys know pro music is an amazing store. One of the best music stores I've ever set foot in. Lots of great bass inventory and I was told that the bass section is going to be expanded to include the entire 2nd floor!

Yeah there awesome, and the cheap taxidermy stuff is funny too. The thing I really like about them is they will always make time to help you out, even when moms with kids come in and ask about beginner things or want to try a guitar or whatever.

For state clubs on Talkbass this one probably has one of the lowest numbers...
