Use a passive expression pedal, not CV. I recommend the Moog EP-3 but anything wired the same way will work - Mission Engineering ones, for example. You do need to use a stereo TRS cable.

The tip goes to the expression pedal's wiper, sleeve is ground, ring to the remaining contact.

You're right, this info is on the website's FAQ but it ought to be on each pedal's page and with more explanation. I'll work on that. The tricky thing is that the more verbose you get with instructions, the more people tune out and get confused, so it's a balancing act. "Get this specific expression pedal" tends to work for most people who aren't as technical.
Awesome, love the pedal so far! I have a Dunlop DVP5 and SA Reflex, probably going to use the reflex. It can control any expression I/O, I just needed to know what to pin the port as, I've heard things can get damaged if you're not careful, especially with digital. Thanks for your help!!

(I hear ya with descriptions, I've seen a few other manuals/descriptions with "I prefer xxxx pedal myself, but most passive will work..")

I hadn't realized people were doing it with the 3Leaf stuff. I have a v1 Proton that is in my sell pile but I've been too lazy to bother. It's a v1 though so I don't think it's big bucks, though hard to pin down since there don't seem to be very many that have come up or sold in recent times.

3leaf in my opinion is the worst example of gouging. It's also the most uncertain if we will ever see more pedals again which drives the panic hoarding and pricing. Spencer was a bit AWOL before the pandemic, now it's even worse...and bordering on send him money at your own risk...there are plenty of unfulfilled promises of fixed enclosures, ghosting on email convos and when he does appear it is usually a public announce that kinda says I'm still alive but that's about it.

Taylor is still putting things out and posting...just demand is crazy. 3leaf seems like people are starting to look at as alternative investments. The markups are pretty similar to the IE stuff.

Is this recent? I ordered the Proton, Doom2 and Octabvre over the spring and summer as the various runs became available and had no issues at all.

Unless there's a secret well of complaints somewhere, I haven't seen any credible accounts of Spencer ghosting people and not sending their pedals back after offering to fix them. He's been pretty sparse in terms of announcements and committing to if/when builds will start up again. Then again, he's been up front about some mental health stuff he's struggled with the last year or so, and the component scarcity doesn't make it easy for any small builders to commit to a timeline right now. I can say that I exchanged a number of emails and questions with him a few years back, and he was always friendly, responsive, and upfront.

Not my stories to tell but I follow the 3leaf thread. Nothing too bad (IMO) but lots of stuff about enclosure replacements and other assorted gripes. Go read for yourself and get the actual accounts if you are curious.

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while… Oxide>Dubterrograph. If I recall correctly, the Oxide, Subterra and Xerogragh were made to make play intentionally well together and make sick synth tones. I had all three some years ago and flipped them for some reason or other. Anyway, the Oxide>Dubterrograph sounds awesome.
