Thank you for the kind words! To be honest, spending way too long scouring Reverb, pressing F5 and getting some help from people on Talkbass and Basschat UK. Sadly, when I think of all the hours spent F5ing and checking websites that never change (especially during COVID) the glamour quickly disappears. Still, I am happy with this board, it sounds really great and, even better, it all worked properly first time!

Sadly, I cannot claim nearly the same level of wow factor with my latest board update… but at least I *can* join in for a fluffy carpet + Iron Ether pedal trilogy moment of my own!
Finally landed myself an XD, and it is truly everything I could have asked for from a filter pedal. And then some! My goodness, I do believe I am smitten.
I have QF2 for while. So I try find best use of this pedal. How You have experience whith this pedal? I want use it with fuzz (now with Blue Colander Big Opiate - Super Fuzz type pedal). Is better to use before or after fuzz? And next question, any recomendation for expression pedal for QF2?
Anyone have any experience with the noise floor for the Nimbus? I play in pretty quiet groups and other reverb pedals add a hiss that makes it tough for me to use. Thanks in advance.
I've had some new gems arrive so it's time for an update:
The first newcomer is Oxide no.357. This fierce beast has the best painted finish of any top-jack Oxide I've seen:
The paint is subtly metallic so when it catches the light it comes alive. I especially like the sides of this pedal. The blending there really pops in good lighting:
It displaces my old side-jack Oxide no.317 for my favorite Oxide aesthetic:
Next I need to thank @Admiral Chew for facilitating the repatriation of these troublemakers:
He went above and beyond to ensure these reached me across the Atlantic. A TBer of integrity and generosity, and a pillar of this community.
You are looking at three very special examples of Taylor's work. First, we have yet another custom-painted Xerograph Deluxe--it took me years to get the first, but now they are proliferating!--this one with red lettering and accents as well as a black gradient. I've never seen a black gradient on an Iron Ether pedal before. @Jakeman's all-black FrantaBit v1 is the closest example to something like this, I think. In any case, the effect is vaguely smokey or sooty like a charcoal rubbing and I'm enjoying the drama produced by the juxtaposition of the black gradient and bold red.
Here it is with its fellow custom-painted XDs:
Second, we have a rather unique example of an FMeron. It is similar to the earliest FMerons of which you see a good number of in the wild, but it has two key differences: 1) it has knobs like more recent builds, and 2) it has a gradient that slopes diagonally. Taylor clearly did this to allow the IE logo to properly contrast. Normally the diagonal isn't necessary because he uses black lettering. But this FMeron has blue letting, making for a visual which is both more subtle and more cohesive. I quite like it. The sides are also very lovely with their textured paint finish.
Third, we have a true unicorn: Dubterranea no.1.
There are not all that many Dubterraneae out there. They are probably about as rare as Divaricators. And this is serial number one. It may need to befriend @TOGNA's Divaricator no.1.
And now, the updated family photo:
I don't need all of these so keep an eye on the classifieds in the coming days.

The painted ones have paint while the ones with faceplates have faceplates.
But seriously, I can’t tell any difference tone-wise.

Others have bigger collections or collections with more models (Subterranea, Cygnet, Mostly Elevators, Cheese Grater, Xerograph, Nimbus v1, Polytope v1, FrantaBit v1, XD v1, etc.), but I think mine is the prettiest. I try to acquire what is in my opinion the best-looking example of each pedal that I want (Arcing Prisms, for example, was not for me). I'm especially happy with my Divaricator because the orange is an unusual finish for that pedal, my three custom XDs because they are wholly unique, and my naked FrantaBit since it also seems to be unique. But then I absolutely love the shading on my orange/blue FMeron and the blending on my Polytope and my Oxide and the purples of my Nimbus SE and... and ... and ... I guess I like them all hahaWowwwwwwwww, that's an outstanding collection, @Erithon! DANG. Well done!!

In part thanks to you! And I'd say "simply amazing" could also describe your fine presentation of your Iron Ether pedals: the negative space on your board frames them all ever so nicely.

It took me years to track this one down. And then I had to trade some very nice gear for it, including the last Subterranea ever made (a special one-off build with a hammertone finish and unusual etching). But you are welcome to PM a crazy offer.Like TOGNA, I heard no differences between my SE and the new faceplate version. In general, I hear differences between Oxides (both of mine are top-tier, meaning they have--to my ears--a wider EQ range) and Subteraneae and, to a much lesser extent, FMerons. There's a slight volume difference between v1 and v2 Polytopes, but not much of a tone difference. I've also heard some differences between FrantaBits but that had more to do with differences in knob/pot installment than tonal variation in the circuits themselves. The Nimbi and the XD are extremely consistent. I've only played two Divaricators so that's too small a sample size to draw any judgements (but the two I played sounded identical).
