Iron Ether Subterranea

Thanks yaksonator. :)

One thing to keep in mind when listening to that clip is that the low-pass is on the entire time. This means that some of the high frequency content is always being filtered out so that the sound is quite a bit less harmonically rich than the Sub-T on its own. This is particularly the case at the lowest part of the filter's sweep—which is most of this clip!

Obviously this won't be a revelation to most of the people on this board (especially those of you using filters already)! I just didn't want to accidently give somebody the wrong idea of how this pedal sounds. :)

Behndy and I have both posted demo vidyas of the Sub-T on Youtube in case some of you need further convincing of how awesome this thing is. The demos both have very different focuses so I strongly encourage people to check out both!

i tend to like to put a filter on a fuzz, cause i sometimes run it less as a quack and more as a tone shaper—so i like to shape the overdrive with the filter rather than overdrive the filter. (if that makes sense)

the sft sounds more like an amp sim to me, so i guess i'd put it at the end (?).

I received the order confirmation for my Polytope on 9/23 with an estimated six week wait. I was kinda hoping it would arrive before my birthday, but I'm not worried about it. Taylor is slammed so I figure it could be awhile. As long as I have it before my recording retreat in January it's all good. I hope to order a SubT too but I know it won't arrive before then.

Just to cheer you all up: I ordered a SubT four days ago and since there's no way I can expect it before 2014 (+ shipping to germany), I decided to just forgot all about it for a while to be pleasantly surprised later.

In the meantime I'll buy and sell some delays on ebay and cuddle with my OC-2, I guess.

FWIW I'm a huge fan of what Earthquaker Devices and TC Electronic are doing on the delay front :)

Well I'm slightly overstocked on delays with a Timeline and a Carbon Copy right now. But was so very tempted to check out (halfway) analog delays with tap tempo, that I bought a Supa-Puss and a Memory Lane Jr. for quite cheap on ebay (at least cheap enough that there won't be any losses if I sell them again)...sweet madness.

Mine came in today. I haven't had much time with it yet but can say this thing is awesome. So many options!

I can see that one of the best ways to make it shine is with varying downstream effects, particularly filters. I've already had some fun running it into a 3Leaf Audio proton. It helps make the filter even more touch sensitive (in a good way).

Thanks for the cool pedal Taylor.

Cheers

Ben
