Ok I'll give you an actual reply, sorry. Depends what he means by "professional musician," I guess, but my point is you have the time you have. At this point in my life, I don't even have 30 minutes a day to practice (and if I did, it would be all spent on double bass). I have been playing for decades. I am not a "pro" but I have played many many gigs, and I do realize the importance of practice. But if you read my entire post instead of cherrypicking, you will see that my point is that consistency is more important than duration. It's a skill we can all get better at - focusing, being consistent and using your time wisely. Sure, if he can play 5 hours a day, great. That's simply not realistic for many people. I think OP can make a lot of progress by playing 30 mins a day and finding a group where he can do 3 hours 1-2 times a week.
