Anything over 9.5lbs is too heavy for me. I have shoulder/back problems especially after a few hours. Both of my current basses weigh between 8-8.5 lbs which IMO is perfect.

TB members' obsessions with bass weight actually caused me to buy a hanging scale so I could weigh my own collection. Heaven forbid I'd ever want to sell anything here, people want weight to three decimals it seems...
I had a 9-ish pound bass for a while, played with it for 4 hours without too much trouble. I never thought that much of it until I tried out a friends Ibanez. I ended up buying it in part because of its light weight (but not entirely, feel and tone were factors too).
