I am existentially amazed that this troll thread is still going, but will offer an answer even though I have refused to read through it on principle.

Question 1 - Do you like the way a Ric sounds and feels?

If "yes" answer

Question 2 - Are the sounds you prefer from a Ric compatible with the music you play?

If you answer "yes" to 1 and 2,

Question 3 - Do you have or want to work to save up the money needed to buy a Ric?

If you answer yes to the above three questions, a Ric is worth it. If you answer no to any one of them, it probably isn't.
