Are there none for sale in the US yet? There seem to be a few UK and European stores showing them on the web, with prices around £750-£800.

No, they don't seem to be available in the U.S. yet. :hmm:
Thanks for the pricing info. I'd imagine they'd be cheaper than £750 here. Since that's over $1,200 and that's the price point for the MIA Fenders, typically.

Nice to know it's CIJ/MIJ. Not that I'm a snob for which country they're made in, but I've found I prefer CIJ/MIJ to MIM personally.

I didn't think I'd say this but I think I prefer them without the matching headstocks.

+1. :)

Bingo! The listing from Sam Ash on Amazon had me confused. Searching Sam Ash's site didn't yield any results, but oddly enough, searching through Google led me to the Fender Deluxe Jaguar bass page on their site. Has the option to order 3-Tone Sunburst, with Candy Apple Red and Cobalt Blue coming soon. Price is $850.

I found a listing on amazon for the Fender Deluxe Jaguar bass, though I'm not sure if it's the new 2011 line, or part of the old discontinued line. It says there's 1 left in stock, and would be distributed through Sam Ash. Price is $850.

Listing in question:
Amazon.com: Fender Deluxe Jaguar Bass Guitar: Musical Instruments

EDIT: See my post (#88) further down for the listing on the actual Sam Ash site.

The description is from the old Jag as they list Oly White, Black, & HHR for optional colors.

Maybe this will finally drive down the insane price that these things have been going for in the used market. I love the Jag's as much as anyone, but I will never pay the $600-900 that the used ones have been going for.

You should have snapped one up when GC was blowing out their remaining stock at $599.

FWIW, I don't $600 is an insane price for a used Jag, but that's just me.
