Is it really back?

If this isn't Japanese or American made, I would think there'd be some backlash.

I think it might be safe to assume that the cobalt will at least have a matching headstock. At least, I'd be surprised if it doesn't.

I'd imagine it'll still be a Japanese model, with matching headstock on the red and blue versions. But until we see any pictures it's all guesses.

The sunburst ones seem to be appearing with a few UK dealers but no sign of the other colours yet.

I found this image which seems to have a cobalt blue Jaguar:

Axes1.jpg

It kind of reminds me *SLIGHTLY* of Rickenbacker's midnight blue.

My Jazz Bass has dark pickups in it and my Ibby sounds too clinical, so neither are great for slap. I know this is an age-old 'annoying question' but are these Jag's suited to slap? I'd probably string it with steels anyway. I'm looking for a bright 'new strings' sound. Give us a hand with suggestions? :)

As a former Jag owner now wanting one again you can get a very good slap tone out of it. IMO it's an aggressive jazz tonewise. If I remember correctly I think these are the same pup's that the Geddy Lee has.

I already have the red Jaguar so I don't GAS for another, but yeah that blue with the unmatched headstock is pretty hawt.

It's weird - they're filtering through to the shops, and some retailers are claiming the cobalt blue is in stock, but no-one will post a picture of it!

Just seen a picture of the CAR one - without matching headstock.

You are supposed to link us to the pic!

I never knew Fender discontinued it. Of course, I don't really keep up with Fender much as I've never really been able to afford one. lol

I REALLY wish Fender would bring back the baritone guitar. I can't remember what it was called exactly, but The Beatles used it as the bass for most of the songs on the white album.

Our lead guitar player has a Bass VI and has recorded with it on two of our songs. On iTunes, you can hear it in the sample of the song "Carpe Noctem" from the album with the same name (my band is The Madeira).

EB MusicMan makes the Silhouette Bass Guitar which is very similar I believe. Silhouette Bass
