Meh. I show up with that to a gig and the people who hired me either ask for a P bass or an upright anyways. No instrument is worth that much to me, but I buy tools not showpieces.

Sounds really nice, but not better than a sub-$300 Washburn AEB I once had. Granted the materials, man hours, and legend aren't even present in that Washburn, buuuuuut I wouldn't be scared playing the Washburn, either.

A SICK car/truck, or a number of nice rides
Many, MANY, nice "cheaper" instruments (a ton of Alembics and Ritters, for instance)

Let's face it. Nobody here has either that kind of money and/or is willing to buy it. For a million bucks I could outfit my band with the latest and greatest gear, audio and recording system (all wireless, natch!), truck to haul our gear around to gigs, a couple of roadies, dedicated soundman, rent for rehearsal space, and still have money left over for pizza and lots of beer!
Didn't he make one for Bobby Vega too? Or am I thinking of someone else?
Whoever buys it will likely not be a bassist, it will go in a case in a yacht or lobby or whatever. In the meantime, Ribbecke gets a ton of free advertisement and his $6k or whatever they cost basses look like a bargain. Also, not saying this is what is happening here, but those big dollar crazy prices for a scribble could be an art collector buying their dream piece of art or it could be someone laundering a large amount of money.
The product description is a masterpiece of hyperbole. Nice bit of wall art though.

Ugh, why does anyone put phosphor bronze strings on a bass? Even on ABG, it's an obnoxious sound.
Hmmm... let me see... that bass or 150 Fender Custom Shops? Really need to think about this!
