Is it worth to learn guitar?

Learning guitar made me a much better bass player, and vice versa. To play good rhythm guitar, you are forced to learn chord shapes and harmony, which are pretty enlightening for bass players who have not focused on that before.

As someone who is trying to become a proffesional bass player, is it worth it to learn playing the guitar, or should he invest all his time in bass playing?

You already play guitar- you just don't have the two top strings.

It helps to know more than one instrument- playing bass makes me think about music differently, while I'm playing. I pay more attention to where I am WRT the tonic and about the intervals while/after playing bass and on guitar, it's easy to fall back on familiar patterns. The role of bass notes in music is foundational and they determine the key, unlike the melody instruments.
