I've been gigging for about 30 years now. Over that stretch of time, I've developed a number of lazy "techniques" to get through a three to four set gig. What these "wrong ways to play" are for is to lessen fatigue. For instance, I often use upright technique on EB...using fingers I II and Iv. I have tiny hands and I avoid tendon damage at my almost advanced age.
Bottom line, I also hit all of the right notes and still get a crisp $100 bill (this is mostly a lie I usually get a Venmo from my bandleader).
