Any nickel wound. D'addario XLs I find to be plenty warm. A little bit zingy when first put on, but not really that much. Plus you can always roll the treble back slightly.Im looking to find a warm round wound that offers warmth and clarity with tamed top end. I don't like zingy or harsh highs. It could even be a tape wound. What would be some good choices?
