Is there such a thing as warm, clear round Wound?

Well from the feedback of others on here and taking in to account that I love TI flats, I have decided to give the TI Jazz Rounds a try. I just ordered me a set from BSO. I have TI Flats on my Ibanez SR5005 and will be putting these Jazz Rounds on my BTB1605.

Turn down your tone/treble on your bass and/or amp.

I have to ask, can't you tame those highs on your present strings with your tone knob??

I third this motion.Why can't they adjust the tone controls?Have they tried rolling off the tone on your bass and amp?
That's why they are there!
Instead of always changing strings to get a darker tone,change your bass or amp settings.
Or must everything be set flat?
Try turning knobs before you buy a new set of strings.

Me too. I use the Super Bright Nickels, and while they do have a bright top end, they are very warm in the mids and bottom.

DR Sunbeams
Fodera Nickel
GHS Round Core Boomers
Dunlop NPS

All of the above will get you there. DR Sunbeams will start out as the brightest of the group but will end up the warmest. Thump and little cut. Next would be Dunlop NPS.

If you still want mids that cut through even when well broken-in then Fodera or GHS RC Boomers. Foderas are more even and will cut the best, Boomers for low mid emphasis.

I believe they've been discontinued, but if you can find a set of D'Addario Slowounds, give them a try.

TI jazz rounds are pretty nice. I used to love the old Fender 7250's when they went dead. Not sure the new 7250's are like the old.
